Your total is two numbers: the DonutJobs plan and the wage you agree with your hire. DonutJobs never sits between the two, so the plan price stays flat however many hours your assistant works.

Candidates can complete up to four checks (internet speed, English, typing speed and a recorded voice sample). 3,827 of them (14%) have completed all four, scores show on profiles, and employers can filter to candidates who passed.

Caveat. Self-stated asking rate. The current signup screen offers $2, $3, $5 and $8 shortcuts and says most jobs pay $2 to $5 per hour, so answers cluster on those values.

Reading the numbers

At the median asking rate of $5 an hour, a full-time assistant working 160 hours a month costs $800 in wages. Add the Agency plan and the month comes to $899, or $855 on the 6-month term. That is the same as a managed full-time seat. The difference is who does the work: on the platform you screen, hire and manage the person yourself, while a managed seat hands all of that to DonutJobs.

The flat plan pulls ahead as you grow. Three full-time assistants cost $2,499 a month on the monthly Agency plan against $2,697 for three managed seats, because the plan price does not rise with each hire. A part-time hire at 80 hours a month comes to $499 with the plan, $130 less than the managed part-time seat.

When does a flat fee beat a percentage?

On Upwork's Basic plan, the 5% fee equals the $99 Agency rate once you pay $1,980 a month through it, or $1,100 a month against the $55 term rate. Fiverr's 5.5% fee passes $99 at $1,800 a month. Above those amounts the flat plan costs less, and it never grows with your payroll.

When a marketplace costs less

For a single low-cost hire you keep for a year, a percentage can come out cheaper than keeping a paid DonutJobs plan running every month. Marketplace fees also buy escrow and dispute handling. If you would rather pay for hiring once and then pay wages only, cancel the monthly plan after you hire. That is the case the flat plan is built for.

Billing

How billing works, in six rules.

No fine print to dig for. These are the rules that decide what you pay and when.

  1. Every account starts free

    Sign up with no card. You can post 1 job and collect up to 10 applications before you decide to pay for anything.

  2. Paid plans are billed monthly, on every term

    There is no upfront lump sum. A 3-month or 6-month term charges the lower rate once a month, the same way the monthly plan does.

  3. A term is a commitment, not a prepayment

    You agree to stay for the length of the term, and in exchange the monthly rate drops. The monthly plan has no commitment at all.

  4. Cancelling a term plan is a soft lock

    Cancel whenever you like. Your access and the locked rate run to the end of the term, and the remaining monthly payments still fall due. There is no early exit fee.

  5. Terms renew unless you cancel

    At the end of a term the plan renews for the same length at the same rate. Cancel before the end date if you do not want another term.

  6. Wages never pass through DonutJobs

    You pay your hire directly, through Wise, Payoneer, Deel or your own payroll. DonutJobs never touches the wage, so there is nothing to mark up.

  • Is the DonutJobs free plan really free?

    Yes. The free plan costs nothing, needs no credit card and never expires. You get 1 active job post, up to 10 applications on it and in-app chat with the people who apply. The catch is speed: a person reviews free posts before they go live, which takes up to 48 hours, while posts on a paid plan publish straight away.

  • What is the difference between the Agency and Pro plans?

    Agency includes 1 team seat, up to 10 active job posts a month and unlimited talent pool outreach. Pro adds unlimited job posts, 5 team seats, 50% off boosts and founder support. Both include the ATS, AI Workflow Builder, time tracking, MCP, Magic Search, custom forms and in-app chat. Choose Pro when several people hire together.

  • How do the 3-month and 6-month terms work?

    A term is a commitment, not a prepayment. You pay the lower rate once a month for the length of the term. If you cancel partway through, your access and the locked rate continue to the end of the term, and the remaining monthly payments still fall due. Unless you cancel before it ends, a term renews for the same length at the same rate.

  • Does DonutJobs charge a fee when I hire someone?

    No. There is no per-hire fee, no placement fee and no commission on wages. You agree a rate with the person you hire and pay them directly through Wise, Payoneer, Deel or whatever you already use. The plan price is the whole platform cost, whether you hire one assistant this month or several.
